Opportunity for Impact
We are seeking a Senior Employment Litigation Attorney to manage complex matters involving California's Private Attorneys General Act, wage-and-hour claims, class actions, and related employment disputes. This role combines litigation strategy, compliance counseling, client relationship management, and team leadership.

This position is ideal for an experienced management-side employment attorney with significant recent PAGA experience who can lead matters proactively, provide practical risk guidance, and mentor junior attorneys and staff.

Outcomes
– Develop and execute effective defense strategies for complex PAGA and wage-and-hour matters
– Reduce client exposure through proactive compliance counseling and risk assessment
– Deliver high-quality pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement strategies

Role & Responsibilities
– Manage and oversee PAGA claims and related representative or class-action litigation
– Develop litigation strategies that balance legal risk, settlement potential, business impact, and litigation costs
– Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other substantive legal work
– Manage written discovery, document production, depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
– Advise employers on California wage-and-hour requirements, employee classification, meal and rest periods, and related compliance obligations
– Conduct employment compliance reviews and wage-and-hour audits
– Monitor legislative and case-law developments affecting PAGA and California employment practices
– Recommend policies and corrective measures that reduce future litigation and compliance risk
– Build and maintain strong client relationships through practical, responsive legal counsel
– Develop and deliver presentations, workshops, and training on employment compliance and litigation risk
– Identify and support appropriate business-development opportunities
– Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff
– Review team work product and establish consistent quality and case-management standards

Professional Qualifications
– Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from accredited institutions
– At least 10 years of relevant legal experience
– At least 8 years of substantive experience involving PAGA matters
– Significant PAGA experience within the past 12 months required
– Established management-side employment litigation defense background
– Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing
– Significant experience with PAGA, wage-and-hour, class-action, and employment compliance matters
– Experience conducting employment compliance reviews and wage-and-hour audits
– Strong experience managing discovery, depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
– Superior legal research, analysis, drafting, and negotiation skills
– Experience supervising attorneys or legal staff
– Jury or civil trial experience preferred
– Public-entity defense experience preferred
– United States citizenship required
